Projects
The Activity of the Foundation is mainly focused in the field of legislative and judicial reform. Among the main projects we have worked on in the last years are the following:
In 2012 FIEP participated in the performance of legal analyses for the needs of investors in Bulgaria, including a comparative analysis of the investment legislation of eight EU Member States within the project of the Bulgarian Investment Agency Promoting the advantages of investing in Bulgaria, implemented by financial support of Operational Programme “Development of the competitiveness of the Bulgarian economy” 2007 – 2013 financed by the EU through the European Regional Development Fund.
In 2009 and 2011 FIEP implemented the project Promotion of streamlined and effective operation and exercise of the powers granted to national courts and authorities pursuant to Regulation (EC) No 1/2003 in Bulgaria and Poland (part I and part II) in cooperation with the Association of economic consultants Pro-Akademia, Poland. Within the two parts of the project two workshops were held in Bulgaria for the needs of the Bulgarian judiciary as well as two handbooks, including a collection of judgments of the ECJ on competition law issues, were published in Bulgaria and Poland.
In the environmental field, FIEP, in partnership with NIRAS, Denmark, was involved in a project funded by the Danish Environmental Protection Agency – Preparation of legislation for implementation of the EC Directive 2003/87/EC establishing a scheme for greenhouse gas emission allowance trading within the Community. The experts of the Foundation participated actively in the preparation of the draft legislation implementing the Directive 2003/87/EC.
